Flat Twin 602
As a child, I grew up among vintage cars, finding a creative playground in car parts and industrial objects. It was a world that dominated our home and vacations. The sound of horns and the passion of old, French men for cars quickly became familiar elements. Something that is unique in my perspective. The vintage cars contain dozens of fascinating and inspiring shapes and parts that are often hidden for the spectator.
By transforming the shapes of different vintage car parts, I create a completely new language of forms. In this design, I draw inspiration from objects that inspire me from the Deux Chevaux Vapeur. I created the Flat twin 602, a chair where I use the basic shape of a cylinder, by enlarging and adjusting the cylinder I bring unique hidden forms into the living space.
By redesigning vintage car parts into furniture and home accessories, I merge aesthetics with tradition, in history and industry.
